Battlegroup Commanders Urged to Apply Knowledge for Regional and Global Benefit

ENTEBBE, (Examiner) – Participants in the Battlegroup Commanders’ Course have been urged to apply their newly acquired knowledge for the betterment of Africa and the global community, especially in Peace Support Operations.

Brigadier General Julius Bagonza emphasized the broader significance of the skills and expertise gained during the course, urging participants to consider their deployment not only as personal advancement but as a contribution to regional and global welfare.

Speaking at the conclusion of the course on Friday (14 June 2024) at the UN Regional Service Centre in Entebbe, Brigadier General Julius Bagonza, Director of Personnel and Administration – Air Force, expressed gratitude to the European Union-African Peace Support Architecture (EU-APSA) for its support.

Brigadier General Getachew Ali Mohamed from the Eastern African Standby Force (EASF) encouraged participants to serve as ambassadors for the force, ensuring the dissemination of their knowledge among their peers.

The 14-day course convened participants from the Eastern Africa Standby Force, representing Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Comoros, Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Sudan.
