Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of ICT and National Guidance, announced the completion of upgrades at Entebbe International Airport and Munyonyo’s Speke Resort to Wifi-6 technology, designed for optimal performance in dense network conditions. Internet hotspots have been established at Kajjansi junctions, the Entebbe Expressway toll gate, and Hotel Africana, designated as a major media center.

Dr. Baryomunsi stressed the internet’s crucial role in facilitating communication during the NAM summit and assured continued high-speed internet availability for Ugandans after the summits. The Ministry has also created dedicated websites for the NAM and G77 summits, implementing robust web firewall applications for content security.

She highlighted the importance of partnerships to foster investments in value addition and agro-processing activities, recognizing women’s substantial contribution to Uganda’s agricultural sector.
