Hundreds displaced by flash floods in Dokolo

DOKOLO, (Examiner) – Over five hundred households have been displaced by floods in Dokolo District as a result of the rising water levels of in Lake Kwania.

The water has submerged homes and crop gardens living thousands of people, including children with neither where to stay or food to eat.

The most affected areas are the sub-counties of Adeknino, Kangai, Okwongodul, Kwera, and Agwata Town Council. Residents of these areas have either taken refuge at nearby primary schools or are renting houses in areas that are not submerged.

A similar incident happened in 2020 where over two hundred households in areas of Adeknino sub county,  Agwata sub-county and Town council, Okwongodul, and others.
