Jinja: PDM employee arrested soliciting bribes

The state house anti-corruption committee has arrested a PDM program employee in Jinja for soliciting bribes from members of the program sacco.

Stella Atwoti Nakayima was arrested for allegedly taking the money from her master.

He is also the PDM secretary of Buwekula sacco in Jinja district.

Brig. Gen. Henry Isoke, chairman of the State House Anti-Corruption Commission, said 480 people have been arrested in connection with the embezzlement of PDM funds and other government programmes.

Isoke immediately ordered that 261 of them, including 200 civil servants and 79 civilians, be taken to court.

This year alone, 36 people, including civil servants, have been taken to court.
