The incident occurred in Karere Village, Kaseta Parish, Kabwoya sub-county. The deceased, Tumwesige Apollo, 38, a resident of the same village, was found dead with multiple injuries. The discovery was made on the morning of July 14th, approximately 200 meters from his residence.
According to SP Julius Allan Hakiza, The Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, Apollo had been experiencing prolonged domestic issues with his wife, Tukamushaba Peace. There were allegations that Peace had an extramarital affair with Mubaraka Kabagambe, the Secretary for Defense in Kabegaramire Village, Kaseta Parish.
On the night of July 13th, around 9 PM, Kabagambe, along with his friends Mubarak Rwemahe and Kamugisha Yonasan, was seen with Apollo behind the deceased’s residence, where Peace operated a bar in front. The next morning, Apollo’s body was found with severe injuries to his head, back, and chest.
“So far, we have six suspects in custody to assist with the investigations. Since the investigation is ongoing, I will not disclose their particulars until we apprehend more suspects believed to be involved in this murder.” Hakiza told Examiner on Monday,
