JINJA, (Examiner) – Cherukut Charles, an aspiring member of Parliament of Kween District, has been arrested by police on suspicion of attempting to defraud an individual (name withheld) of over 800 million Uganda shillings.

Privy Sources, wishing to remain anonymous, told Examiner that Cherukut was arrested in Namugongo while allegedly in the midst of carrying out the fraudulent transaction.

Reports suggest that Cherukut, oblivious to being pursued by police, continued with his regular activities until his arrest occurred unexpectedly.

As of now, Cherukut is being detained at Jinja Road police station pending further investigation.

Officials have yet to provide an official statement on the matter.

As of press time, there is no conclusive evidence linking Hon Twalla Fadil to the incident, contrary to earlier assertions made by certain individuals.
