The Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, and Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director, Dorothy Kisaka, found themselves in disagreement before Speaker of Parliament Anita Among regarding resolutions made to clear the salary arrears of KCCA casual workers.

Lukwago expressed his surprise to Speaker Among, stating that he was not informed beforehand about the resolutions made by ED Kisaka during today’s meeting regarding the casual workers’ matters.

The meeting agreed to clear all salary arrears of KCCA casual workers for the past six months starting tomorrow, with a verification exercise at division levels commencing on March 11, 2024.

Speaker Among also urged KCCA leadership to address conflicts within Seven Hills Company and its employees to facilitate smoother operations in Kampala City, following protests by some workers who stormed Parliament over unpaid six-month arrears by the authority.
