The case of the murder of Mwanebepaaka, brother of the Reverend of Nyamiiko Church of Uganda, has been handed over to Batison Baguma, the Chief Principal State Attorney of Bushenyi.
Primary suspects in the case are John Tinkamanyire, also known as Chief Kanyinondi, and Alex, his son-in-law, who happens to be the headteacher of a popular primary school in the same Bushenyi district.
The Regional Director of Public Prosecutions for Ankole, Moses Onen Ochan, did not investigate the file since it was not reviewed by Mr. Baguma before being transferred. Even though he couldn’t proceed with the case, he revealed to our reporter in confidence that the file was not evidence-proof since it was tampered by the former OCID Bushenyi, Benon Kivengere.
The postmortem report on Mwanebepaaka’s death indicates that he died of natural causes, which is contrary to what physical evidence shows. The residents of Nyamiiko village in Mazinga ward, Nyakabirizi division, claim that John Tinkamanyire, also known as Chief Tinkamanyire, killed his shamba boy, Danson Mwenebepaaka, on the night of April 29th, 2023.
