KAMPALA, (Examiner) – Senior Commissioner of Police Fred Enanga, a long-serving police spokesperson, has handed over his duties to Assistant Commissioner of Police Kituuma Rusoke. Rusoke, formerly in charge of law enforcement at Kampala Capital City Authority, has most recently served as the RPC of Lwizi Police Region.

Enanga, known for his roles in various police departments including lands, first assumed the spokesperson role in 2014, succeeding Judith Nabakooba under the leadership of Gen Kale Kayihura. He was later replaced by Kayima but was reinstated by John Martins Okoth Ochola in 2019. Enanga’s tenure was marked by staunch defense of the police force amid challenging times.

In his farewell address to journalists at Naguru Police Headquarters on Monday, Enanga acknowledged the demanding nature of the spokesperson role, especially in handling public criticism and scrutiny. He has since been redeployed to Police Interpol as the Deputy Director.
