Baguma had reportedly diverted 800,000 shillings, designated as a suspect’s fund, for personal gambling pursuits, leading to his tragic demise.

In a bid to recoup the lost funds, Baguma resorted to desperate measures, including coercive tactics towards his relatives for financial aid, as disclosed by Deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire.

An investigation into Baguma’s demise has been launched, emphasizing adherence to police protocols governing the handling of suspects’ assets.

While the inquiry unfolds, Owoyesigyire underscored the incident as a cautionary tale against the pitfalls of sports betting, highlighting the dangers of gambling addiction.

Baguma’s unfortunate saga serves as a poignant reminder of the imperative for responsible financial management and the inherent risks within the realm of gambling.
