Robbers creep an ambulance in Kibaale

Police in the Kibaale area are looking for unidentified robbers who stole an ambulance from the EMESCO Health Center IV in the Kibaale town council on Tuesday night.

Dr. Emmily Kugonza, the member of parliament for Buyanja County, gave the ambulance, a Land Cruiser with the registration number UBB 655K, to the medical facility.

According to sources, Dr. Andrew Kasangaki, a staff member of the EMESCO Health Center, was in charge of the ambulance when it was stolen on Tuesday night.

According to preliminary evidence, Dr. Kasangaki drove and parked the ambulance at his home on Tuesday night, but when his wife walked outside a short while later, she saw that it was stolen.

The couple called the police right away to report the occurrence.

A team of investigators from the flying squad has been sent to find the culprits and retrieve the ambulance, according to Mr. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine regional police spokesperson

“Our intelligence team is working hard to find the criminals and retrieve the ambulance. Right now, they have solid leads, he added.

In the meantime, the management of EMESCO Health Centre IV has offered a reward of Shs10 million to anyone with information that could help in the recovery of the car.
