Shocking! Residents storm subcounty due to delays in accessing PDM cash.

In Nyakatonzi Sub-County, Kasese District, local residents and leaders have expressed their frustration over the inability to access the Parish Development Model Funds. They are now threatening to petition Ugandan Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabanja to address the issue.

Earlier yesterday , agitated residents gathered at the sub-county headquarters, demanding an explanation from the authorities. They informed The Black Examiner during a separate interview that they have fulfilled all the necessary requirements as instructed by the technical team. However, they have yet to receive the funds, leaving them dismayed.

Mr. Matia Kisembo, the local council one chairperson for Bwanika Village, questioned why Nyakatonzi sub-county has been excluded from the list of beneficiaries in Uganda.

Some residents, who identified themselves as supporters of the NRM government, expressed concern about the inadequate service delivery in Nyakatonzi sub-county. They raised questions about the situation during discussions with us.

Mr. Ham Natuhwera, the district councilor representing Nyakatonzi Sub-County, attributed the delay in disbursing the PDM funds to the recent transfer of the community development officer. He urged the local community to remain calm, as the technical team is currently consulting with the district commercial officer to resolve the issue. It is hoped that the sub-county PDM code will be made available by next week.
