  • The accident involved motor vehicle Reg UBK 900A Isuzu forward which was ferrying students of St. Paul Church of Uganda Secondary school located in Kyankwanzi district killing one student on spot identified as Mulalira Jed an 18year old resident of Ntwetwe, while other twenty have been left injured.

The territorial traffic police in Kyankwanzi has today 15th march 2024, at around 1030hrs registered a single fatal accident at Kasoolo Village Nkandwa sub county along Ntwetwe-Massode marram Road in Kyankwanzi district.

The accident involved motor vehicle Reg UBK 900A Isuzu forward which was ferrying students of St. Paul Church of Uganda Secondary school located in Kyankwanzi district killing one student on spot identified as Mulalira Jed an 18year old resident of Ntwetwe, while other twenty have been left injured.

“We have since established that the vehicle had 60 students on board that were going for football match,” SP Racheal Kawala the Wamala regional police spokesperson said.

Kawala said preliminary findings indicate that the driver was speeding, “unfortunately, he failed to negotiate a corner and lost control causing the vehicle to overturn injuring 20 of its occupants and killing one on spot.”

Police said the body of the deceased has been taken to Kiboga Hospital for post-mortem while victims are getting treatment at the same hospital.

Kawala said the driver is on run however efforts are on to have him arrested and prosecuted.
