Uganda Airlines has secured a new Airbus A320 from Global Airlines, headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. The acquisition, orchestrated by Uganda Airlines CEO Ms. Jenifer Bamuturaki, comes through a wet lease arrangement, inclusive of pilots and cabin crew, aimed at bolstering operational effectiveness.

The addition of this 160-seater aircraft, outfitted with a two-class cabin comprising 12 business class and 138 economy seats, is poised to fortify Uganda Airlines’ schedule integrity. This reinforcement becomes crucial as segments of its regional fleet undergo scheduled maintenance.

Bamuturaki emphasized that this lease agreement will address operational hurdles on key routes such as Johannesburg and Kinshasa, where capacity limitations have hindered efficiency, while also enhancing services to destinations like Nairobi and Lagos.

Commenting on the partnership with Global Airlines, Bamuturaki expressed enthusiasm, citing the pivotal role it plays in Uganda Airlines’ growth trajectory. She emphasized the commitment to maintaining exceptional service standards amidst surging demand, underscoring the flexibility this addition brings to their operations.
