Ugandan security authorities have issued a cautionary warning regarding the reappearance of a suspected member of the notorious ADF terrorist group, believed to be behind the recent twin bombings in Kampala.
On Sunday, March 17, 2024, security alerts emphasized the return of the ADF operative tasked with planting bombs in Kampala last year (2023) to carry out a potentially deadly mission. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to law enforcement or security agencies.
The detonation of two improvised explosive devices occurred—one in Kikubamutwe parish in Kabalagala and another in Nabweru, Nansana Municipality.
According to military reports, the IED in Nabweru was allegedly delivered by two young men who had rented a house for three months. They left a bag in the room where the explosion took place.
In Kabalagala, the IED was placed on the veranda of a house in a bustling street and later detonated, fortunately causing no injuries.
In response to these events, security authorities have announced a reward of Shs 20 million for any individual providing information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
As of Sunday, March 17, 2024, security officials have confirmed that the Shs 20 million reward still stands for individuals offering credible information that leads to the apprehension of the suspect.
“The Shs 20 million bounty remains available for anyone cooperating with security agencies and providing pertinent information.”
