Summary:

  • Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja of Uganda fulfills her pledge towards constructing a specialized hospital, also acknowledging the President’s commitment. She expresses gratitude for support during a cabinet reshuffle and promotes government programs.

The Honourable Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of Uganda, has honored her commitment by contributing Shs50 million towards the construction of St. Mary’s Children and Women Specialized Hospital in Bujumbura, the seat of Hoima Catholic Diocese in Hoima City. She presented her pledge to the Bishop, the Right Reverend Vincent Kirabo, during the Palm Sunday mass.

Addressing the congregation, Ms. Nabbanja also confirmed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s pledge of Shs300 million for the same church project, assuring that it would be fulfilled soon despite logistical challenges.

“This contribution aims to enhance healthcare services for women and children in Hoima Catholic Diocese, complementing the existing facilities,” she emphasized.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the congregation for their prayers, which she believes played a role in her retention during the recent cabinet reshuffle.

Furthermore, Ms. Nabbanja mobilized support for government development initiatives, particularly the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga.

Bishop Vincent Kirabo Amooti of Hoima Catholic Diocese commended Ms. Nabbanja for fulfilling her pledge and urged politicians to remain close to their constituents.

He encouraged the public to emulate the life of Jesus Christ by fostering love, peace, and harmony within their communities.

Palm Sunday marks the fifth week of Lent in many Christian denominations, commemorating Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
