UPDF Launches New Recruitment Drive for Science Graduates

KAMPALA, (Examiner) – The Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) has announced a new recruitment exercise targeting individuals who have completed Senior Six with science subjects. Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye, Director of Defence Public Information, stated that the recruitment will focus on candidates aged 18-28 years and follows the recent recruitment of S.4 leavers.

The recruitment categories include UACE (S.6) science combinations with a principal pass in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or Geography, as well as degrees or diplomas in various engineering and technical fields. Applications can be submitted on the UPDF website from June 19 to July 3, with successful candidates posted on the site by July 14. Screening, including medical and physical tests, will take place from July 15 at the land forces headquarters in Bombo. Brig. Gen. Kulayigye assured applicants that no fees are required for the process.
