Water Scarcity in Kasese will be history – NWSC

NWSC has announced that water scarcity in Kasese Municipality will history. According to Mr. Peter Ebwaat, the area manager of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation, over seventy-five percent of the new water project for Kasese Municipality has been completed.

The decision to extract water from Kyanzutsu River, which originates from Nyamisule, was made due to the high demand for water caused by various developments in the municipality. Mr. Ebwaat assured the public that their treatment plant was capable of accommodating the additional water supply. The project is expected to be finalized by the end of this year, taking advantage of the new financial year 2023/4.

In order to ensure continuous supply, Mr. Ebwaat urged their customers to pay for water services promptly. He emphasized that this would help bridge the gaps in areas such as Kahalimu, Tamagalo, Rukooki, and the lower parts of Kasese Municipality. Additionally, he encouraged the local population to promptly report any water-related challenges to their office.

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation aims to address water scarcity and meet the growing demand in Kasese Municipality, providing a reliable and sustainable water supply for the community.
