Rubanda District | The Black Examiner – Police in Rubanda registered a fatal accident that involved a motorcyclist Alex Ngabirano 17 years a resident of Bishanyu cell Katoma parish Ruhija sub-county and pedal cyclist Methodius Turyamureba 38 years resident of Hamumba cell Nyarurambi ward Rubanda town council both of Rubanda district.
This was on Friday 25th August 2023 at about 08:00 pm at Murore A, Nyakabungo ward, Rubanda Town council along Kabale Kisoro road in Rubanda district.
It’s alleged that both were from the same direction of Kisoro towards Kabale, when the pedal cyclist reached a corner near Rubanda market he decided to make a U-turn in the middle of the highway trying to go back but unfortunately, the motorcyclist knocked him from there and both fell in the middle of the road.
They were all rescued by good Samaritans and rushed to the nearby clinics for first aid treatment but later the pedal cyclist succumbed to injuries on the way while being escorted to Kabale hospital.
Primarily cause was reckless riding by both riders.
The scene was visited and reconstructed by Asp Wakatuma DTO Rubanda and the team, Postmortem done and the body was handed back to relatives for decent burial.
Both the motorcycle and bicycle were recovered and parked at police pending inspection.
The other victim (motorcyclist) is still being guarded at Humura clinic where he is receiving treatment.
