Police Arrests 8 Suspects in Buyende Boda Boda Theft Ring

Buyende District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Police and law enforcement authorities in Buyende have apprehended an eight-member criminal gang responsible for the theft of boda boda motorcycles.

During a search operation conducted at Irundu Trading Centre, specifically at the residence of Nfaki David, law enforcement officials successfully recovered five motorcycles and various spare parts. These included a motorcycle with the registration number UDD 154C and a TVS Star with the registration number UDG 819W.

Among the individuals arrested in connection with these crimes are Lubega Kenneth, Kitimbo Yusuf, Isma Dolio, Nfaki Solomon, and Nfaki David.

In a separate operation at Kitimbo’s garage in Buyende town council, law enforcement officers were able to apprehend Kitimbo James, Kireri Fred, and Bulolo Alex. As a result of this operation, two stolen motorcycles, registered as UDT 387T and UET 381X, were successfully recovered.

Uganda Police spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga emphasized the unwavering commitment of the police force to combat criminal elements targeting boda boda riders. He also issued a warning to boda boda operators regarding the dangers of late-night ambushes.

Recent incidents include a tragic attack on riders in Nakitokolo village and a series of robberies in Aswa West, Nwoya police station, and Kafundikara village. The Police Flying Squad is currently making concerted efforts to identify suspects and recover stolen motorcycles in these cases.
