According to him, Apollo Kisoboli faced the wrath of an angry mob for failing to provide an account for the three hundred and fifty thousand shillings in cash condolences raised during the burial of the late Rose Muhindo Tusiime, also known as Mama NyaFiki. The burial took place on Thursday in Kasika Village, Maliba sub-county, Kasese District.
Apollo Kisoboli, who was the chairperson of the organizing committee at the burial, allegedly vanished with the remaining cash after covering all expenses. He was eventually traced and arrested in Kidodo cell today.
Among the disappointed mourners was Mr. Bashir Bwambale, who claimed to have slept hungry at the deceased’s home, while Kisoboli, also the sub-accountant of Bugoye sub-county, disappeared with the money.
Expressing her sorrow, Shallotte Masika, one of the deceased orphans, described Apollo Kisoboli’s actions as regrettable, particularly during such challenging moments.
As of press time, Kisoboli had forcibly refunded the money and was being held at the Railway Police post for safekeeping.
