Pope Francis has imparted apostolic blessings to Archbishop Augustine Kasujja for his exceptional service as a Bishop for the last 25 years.
This was in a message read for him by the Pope Nuncio to Uganda Archbishop Luigi Bianco at Mitala Maria Parish during the celebrations of 50 years a priest and 25 years a bishop.
Much of his time in the 25 years of episcopate Archbishop Kasujja has been a Pope Nuncio and served among other countries Argentina, Haiti, Bangladesh, Portugal, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Algeria, Nigeria, Tunisia, Mauritius and lastly Belgium and Luxemburg.
It was upon this service that Pope Francis congratulated him and thanked him for the excellent service wherever he was posted and prayed to him through the intercession of Virgin Mary and St. Joseph to grant him his desires. The blessing was signed on 21st July 2023 in Rome.
On his behalf His Excellence Archbishop Luigi Bianco said Archbishop Kasujja has been exemplary, served with humility, love and commitment. He lives to be admired.
The jubilarian Archbishop Augustine Kasujja was overwhelmed by the colourful and historical event during his celebrations, the love extended to him by his family, Christians from Mitalamaria, public authorities, priests, religious and Bishops.
