President Museveni Extends Congratulations to New Bishop of Kasana Luweero

President Yoweri Museveni has conveyed his felicitations to the newly appointed Bishop of Kasana Luweero and expressed the government’s commitment to collaborate with him in fostering transformation within the region.

Vice President Jessica Alupo read President Museveni’s message during the ceremony at Kasana Luweero. The President acknowledged the significant contributions of the Catholic Church, expressing pride in their endeavors. He highlighted the utilization of government initiatives, such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), to combat poverty and support families.

President Museveni also praised the Catholic Church for its successful engagement in public-private sector partnerships, leading to the establishment of schools and hospitals. These initiatives have been instrumental in providing essential social services to the community, earning the government’s commendation and full backing.

As a gesture of support, President Museveni generously donated a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle to facilitate the new bishop’s travels and endeavors.

Vice President Jessica Alupo expressed her gratitude for the dedicated service of the new Bishop of Kasana Luweero diocese. She recalled his noble efforts during the LRA insurgency in the northern region when Bishop Mukasa, then a lecturer and spiritual director at Katigondo Major Seminary, opened the doors to seminarians from Alokolum Major Seminary, ensuring their continued education until peace was restored in the region.

President Museveni’s message and Vice President Jessica Alupo’s heartfelt tribute underscore the importance of collaboration between the government and religious institutions to drive positive change and development within communities.
