Rwamahwa Health Center IV Receives Multi-Million Theater Boost

Rukungiri District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | The inauguration of a new theater facility at Rukungiri Health Center (IV) in Rwamahwa, located in the Eastern Division of Rukungiri Municipality, received its official commencement under the auspices of Security Minister, Honorable Major General Jim Muhwezi.

As conveyed by Honorable Major General Jim Muhwezi, the construction endeavors are to be undertaken by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Engineering Brigade. This significant project, funded to the tune of Ugandan Shillings 600 million by the Ministry of Health under the government of Uganda, is slated for completion within six months.

Minister Muhwezi called upon the populace to lend their support and embrace the initiatives of the NRM government, recognizing that such efforts contribute to personal and societal development.

Honorable Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa, the Member of Parliament representing Rukungiri Municipality, expressed her appreciation to the Ministry of Health for financing both the construction of the theater and a forthcoming maternity ward, the latter of which will also be overseen by the UPDF Engineering Brigade once the theater project concludes. She noted that the theater’s construction serves as evidence of her commitment to the promises made during the 2021 general elections, with a commitment to delivering even more to advance her constituency’s growth and transformation.

Honorable Midius Natukunda Kaharata, the Woman Member of Parliament for the region, extended her gratitude to the government for funding the theater and maternity ward at Rwamahwa Health Center IV. She emphasized that these developments would lead to a reduction in maternal and child mortality rates during childbirth and referrals.

Major Mawanda Francis, the UPDF officer leading the construction team, underscored their dedication to delivering high-quality work and ensuring value for the allocated funds. He also called upon the community for assistance to help achieve a seamless and excellent outcome.

The event was blessed by various dignitaries, including Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen, Deputy RDC Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongom, Rukungiri District Chairperson LC5 Kyomukama Geofrey, and other invited guests.
