Rwandan National Found Dead at Katuna Border Cell

Kabale District | The Black Examiner – In Kabale district, Police are currently engaged in an investigative pursuit to unravel the circumstances surrounding the untimely death of a 35-year-old Rwandan national.

The individual in question has been identified as Ibrahim Tuyishimire, a resident of the Katuna border cell within the Kabale district’s town council. This incident transpired on the 12th of August, 2023, at approximately 15:50 hours local time.

It was during this period that the Katuna police station received crucial information, communicated through the phone number [with held]. This communication led to the discovery of an unidentified lifeless body situated within a wooden structure at the Katuna border cell.

Confirming the sequence of events, ASP Elly Maate, the spokesperson for the Kigezi Sub-region, told this publication that a contingent of police officers stationed at Katuna swiftly mobilized and journeyed to the location. Following a meticulous examination of the deceased’s belongings, a documentation emerged, revealing the deceased’s identity as Tuyishimire Ibrahim, a Rwandan citizen.

Further elaborating on the incident, Maate underscored that the scene was meticulously documented, and the deceased’s body was subsequently transported to the mortuary at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, where a postmortem analysis will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

Maate took the opportunity to disclose to the media that the matter has been officially registered at the Kabale Central Police Station under the reference number CRB 622/2023. The inquiries into this tragic instance of sudden death remain ongoing, as law enforcement endeavors to establish the underlying factors contributing to Tuyishimire Ibrahim’s passing.
