SAHCO Awarded Handling Contract for Uganda Airlines

Lagos, Nigeria | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has secured the contract to provide passenger, baggage, and ramp handling services for Uganda Airlines, the national carrier of Uganda. Uganda Airlines will be operating thrice a week from Entebbe International Airport in Uganda to Lagos, Nigeria.

Patrick Ziwa, the Ugandan Country Manager, expressed his happiness and gratitude for the partnership between SAHCO and Uganda Airlines. He emphasized Uganda Airlines’ excitement about working with SAHCO and their commitment to supporting SAHCO on this new journey.

SAHCO has earned the trust of both its existing and new airline partners through its reputation for seamless, safe, and efficient service delivery. The company stands as the sole aviation ground handling company with a presence in all commercially operated airports in Nigeria.

In recent times, many foreign airlines have chosen SAHCO for their aviation ground handling operations to benefit from the dedicated and well-trained workforce known for their integrity and adherence to global best practices.

SAHCO has also made significant investments in modern aviation ground support equipment (GSE) that operate on alternative power sources and are rugged to ensure effective maneuvering in the challenging Nigerian terrain. These GSEs are environmentally friendly, producing zero carbon emissions, aligning with SAHCO’s commitment to environmental preservation. Notably, SAHCO employs Cool Dollies to transport temperature-sensitive cargo from aircraft to the warehouse, safeguarding the integrity of these shipments.

Additionally, SAHCO recently entered an aviation ground handling contract with Ibom Air to handle regional flights, beginning with the Lagos to Accra route on October 17, 2023. The scope of services provided to Ibom Air includes passenger handling, baggage handling, ramp handling, cargo handling, and Premium Lounge services.

Despite the challenges in the aviation industry, SAHCO maintains a focus on operational excellence, offering customized services to its diverse aviation clients.
