Stanbic Bank named “Best Bank in Uganda” at Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2023

Stanbic Bank Uganda was awarded the prestigious title of “Best Bank in Uganda” at the renowned Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2023. The announcement was made during a ceremony held in London last week, where the world’s top banks were celebrated for their achievements.

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence, which began in 1992 and were the first of their kind in the global banking industry, consist of 269 different award categories at the country, regional, and global levels. Euromoney, a leading authority on the world’s banking and financial markets, determines the winners through an editorial panel of judges after a thorough three-month research and interview process.

In the same remarkable week, Stanbic Bank was also honored as Uganda’s most admired financial institution in the Brand Africa annual rankings. Brand Africa conducts surveys and rankings across 32 African countries, and this prestigious recognition was based on their extensive research and data from Geopoll and Kantar.

Anne Juuko, the Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Bank, expressed her gratitude for the award, stating, “We are deeply honored to be acknowledged both at home and beyond for our efforts to enhance our client experience through innovative products that contribute to Uganda’s growth.” She emphasized the bank’s commitment to customer satisfaction and attributed the success to the hard work of their staff and the support of their valued customers.

Brand Africa, founded in 2010, is a movement that seeks to inspire a brand-led African renaissance, promoting Africa’s competitiveness and fostering a positive image of the continent.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that the Standard Bank Group, to which Stanbic Bank belongs, achieved an impressive leap in its reputation, jumping from sixth place to being recognized as Africa’s most admired finance brand for 2023. The group surpassed Equity, Absa, Ecobank, and UBA to claim the top spot.
