Namisindwa District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | The State House monitoring unit has voiced apprehensions regarding the status of government projects in Namisindwa district. On a dedicated Wednesday, the team conducted an exhaustive inspection of various government initiatives in the region, which encompassed the Bumbobi-Lwakhakha road, Namboko Seed School, Mukoto Seed School, Sono Health Center III, and the Parish Model Program.

Guided by David Sengendo, an official from State House, the team’s objective for the visit was to scrutinize these government endeavors and subsequently relay their observations to the President. To their astonishment, they unearthed discrepancies concerning the Bumbobi-Lwakhakha road. Despite earlier reports suggesting its completion, it became evident that the road had only been fully asphalted up to the Lwakhakha border, leaving Magale and Bumbo unfinished.

Additionally, Sengendo divulged more disconcerting revelations, notably the Mukoto Seed School’s lingering incompleteness. The contractor had inexplicably abandoned the project, despite the government’s allocation of all necessary funds.

Sono Health Center III, situated in Bukokho sub-county, had been constructed but faced operational challenges due to a dearth of healthcare personnel to manage the daily surge of patients. Julie Namara, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Namisindwa, appealed to the President for guidance upon reviewing the report. She also expressed worry about certain individuals misappropriating government funds intended for specific projects, leading to their unfinished state.

Jackson Wakwaika, the Chairperson of the Namisindwa district’s LC 5, urged the Office of the President to expedite the implementation of the outlined solutions in the report. He underscored the importance of holding those responsible for the incomplete projects accountable, emphasizing that such endeavors not only burden the government financially but also adversely affect the local community’s access to essential services.
