Ugandan and Congolese Forces Score Victories Against Allied Democratic Forces in Ongoing Operation Shujja

In a significant development, the Joint Forces of Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF) and the Congolese Army have achieved further successes in their ongoing military campaign, Operation Shujja, against the notorious Allied Democratic Forces (ADF). The recent advances were confirmed in a report obtained by The Black Examiner.

According to Maj. Bilal Katamba, the spokesperson for Operation Shujja and the Mountain Division, the joint forces conducted operations over the weekend in the areas of Talia and Tingwe, located in North Kivu province, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The 15th and 3rd mountain battalions spearheaded the operations, successfully engaging the enemy in intense combat.

During the operations, three ADF insurgents were neutralized, dealing a significant blow to the terrorist organization. The joint forces also seized a considerable cache of military equipment, including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), Submachine Guns (SMGs), rounds of ammunition, and radio communication devices used by the ADF to coordinate their operations.

Maj. Katamba emphasized the commitment of the joint forces to pursue the enemy relentlessly until the ADF operators either surrender, are captured, or are incapacitated. The dedication and resolve of the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces remain unwavering in their mission to dismantle the ADF and bring peace and stability to the region.

Operation Shujja, a collaborative effort between Uganda and the DRC, was launched to counter the threat posed by the ADF, a militant group known for its heinous acts of violence and terrorism. The ADF has been responsible for numerous atrocities, including attacks on civilians, kidnappings, and bombings in the region.

The successful operations in Talia and Tingwe underscore the effectiveness of the joint forces’ strategy in tackling the ADF menace. The combined efforts of the UPDF and the Congolese Army have proven to be a formidable force in the fight against terrorism and have garnered support from the local population, who yearn for peace and security in their communities.

While significant progress has been made, the situation remains dynamic and challenging, with the ADF showing resilience and adaptability. Nevertheless, the Joint Forces are determined to maintain their offensive and continue to degrade the ADF’s capabilities.

The international community has expressed its support for Operation Shujja and commends the efforts of Uganda and the DRC in combating the ADF insurgency. Regional stability and the protection of civilians are paramount in the fight against terrorism, and the Joint Forces’ dedication serves as a testament to their commitment to achieving these goals.

As the operation continues, the Joint Forces will closely collaborate with intelligence agencies, enhance surveillance, and conduct targeted operations to disrupt the ADF’s networks and prevent further acts of terror.

The Black Examiner will continue to monitor and report on the developments of Operation Shujja as the joint forces pursue their mission to dismantle the ADF and bring an end to the reign of terror in the region.
