Three Injured in Kagadi- Kyenjojo Road Accident

Kagadi District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Three people were severely injured on Sunday following an accident in Kararike Cell, Nyanseke ward in Muhorro Town Council, Kagadi district along Kagadi- Kyenjojo highway.

The accident involved a Bajaj motorcycle Reg.no UFC 862B and trailer Reg no. RAG 857Q.

The victims are Gard Twijukye and his wife whose particulars were not captured by press time residents of Kiraba Cell in Kagadi Town council who were riding the Bajaj while the third victim is Abudallah Mustafa a Tanzanian national who was driving the trailer loaded with sorghum heading to Kyenjojo from Kagadi.

It is alleged that the driver of the trailer lost control of the truck after its brakes failed to function as he was negotiating a sharp corner thus ramming into the motorcycle.

Twijukye and his wife are admitted at Dr. Kagagwa’s health facility in Kyakasene whereas the driver of the trailer sustained minor injuries.

Benon Tugume, an eye witness has attributed the accident to speeding and reckless driving of the trailer driver.

Tugume and other locals have asked government to intervene and re-design the road especially at the spot of the accident occurred, saying it has become a death trap.

On Sunday July 16,2023, 16 people perished in the accident at the same area when a commuter taxi they were travelling was crushed by a trailer.
