Kenya | The Black Examiner – Three suspects are being held by police in Gem, Siaya County, in connection with the gang rape of a 28-year-old woman who was discovered dead in Rera, Gem Sub-county Kenya
In a statement, County Police chief Muchiri Nyaga said that the woman had been gang-raped before being fatally strangled.
“We had a really terrible occurrence early this morning where a 28-year-old woman was killed in the South Gem region. Three males that we have apprehended at our police station are thought to have committed a gang rape on her.”
“According to the evidence gathered, the woman was first raped before being strangled to death,” Nyaga added, pointing out that the victim had rope marks on her neck.
The woman’s lifeless body was discovered inside her home by neighbors.
Nyaga stated that they are concerned about the increase in GBV cases and urged all stakeholders, especially chiefs and champions, to work together to combat these immoral behaviors.
