Kaberamaido District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | As the Senior Four final examinations (Uganda Certificate of Education) commenced today, all but two of the nine bus crash victims from Midland High School in Kaberamaido district were able to attend. The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has provided three transcribers to assist the three crash victims who cannot write.

On September 28, 2023, a tragic motor vehicle crash involving Midland High School candidates occurred, resulting in the loss of two students’ lives. The crash took place around 3:00am at Awoja on the Soroti-Mbale highway when the school shuttle, bus REG. NO UG-1951E of Busitema University, collided with a stationary trailer Truck REG NO. UAQ-718 parked on the highway.

In Kaberamaido, Michael Mugabe, the examination area supervisor, reported that only one candidate from Oloment SS did not receive her low vision exam paper and had to take the regular vision paper.

Meanwhile, the district inspector of Schools, Molley Monica Alweyo, noted that the exams in Kaberamaido had started smoothly, except for the challenges faced by Midland High School.

In Kalaki district, Lwala Girls SS reported a 100% turnout of their S4 candidates for the 2023 UCE UNEB examinations. Headteacher Grace Apio credited this to the students’ strong sense of faith, which instilled confidence in them to attend the UCE examinations.

Across the country, Senior Four candidates began writing their UCE UNEB exams with Geography Paper One this morning. The exams will continue until November 17th.
