The individuals in question, namely Lomuria Lochomin and Lokol Loita, were taken into custody by the police on the evening of January 14, 2024.
The arrests followed extensive investigations and collaborative efforts by law enforcement agencies committed to ensuring justice for the heinous crime.
As per police reports, the suspects divulged information regarding the location where they had concealed the stolen firearm used in the police officer’s killing. Mike Longole, the Karamoja Police Spokesperson, shared insights into the ongoing investigation.
“The recovered firearm serves as a crucial piece of evidence, linking the suspects to the crime. It will play a pivotal role in reconstructing the events leading to the tragic murder. This discovery strengthens our case and brings us closer to ensuring that those responsible face the consequences of their actions,” explained Mike Longole.
In addition to the firearm recovery, the operation also resulted in the retrieval of 60 rounds of ammunition from the suspects. Longole emphasized that forensic teams would meticulously examine the recovered ammunition to gather more evidence related to the crime.
