Kampala, Uganda | THE BLACK EXAMINER | The 12th Annual Mineral Wealth Conference is scheduled to be held at the Kampala Serena Hotel from October 30 to 31. This year’s conference carries the theme, “Fostering a Viable and Realistic Strategy for Uganda’s Mineral Sector to Drive Economic Transformation.” It is organized by the Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum (UCMP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development. The event anticipates the participation of approximately 300 attendees from Uganda, East Africa, and beyond.

These participants will encompass government officials, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, as well as members of the diplomatic corps and development partners.

Rwenzori Rare Metals, a company with over a decade of exploration experience in Uganda, is among the prominent sponsors of the conference. Patience Singo, the General Manager of Rwenzori Rare Metals, views the conference as an excellent opportunity to showcase the company’s work, given its extensive involvement in the mining sector.

The opening ceremony will be presided over by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Ruth Nankabirwa. Subsequently, national and international speakers will delve into the conference’s key topics during the two-day event, which will also feature industry exhibitors on the sidelines.

Over the years, this annual conference has played a pivotal role in creating opportunities for Uganda’s domestic and international mining interests. It achieves this by bringing together influential policymakers, decision-makers, business leaders, financiers, academics, and mining investors from around the world.
