More than a hundred undercover personnel from military and police forces have been deployed for intelligence operations during the Christmas season.

Security meetings held at Naguru police headquarters, specifically at the Joint Operations Committee and National Security Command Centre, have reached a consensus to escalate covert operations in the ongoing battle against criminality and terrorism.

In response to intelligence shared by three government spy agencies revealing planned terrorist activities and the formation of criminal gangs during Christmas, security forces have decided to significantly increase the deployment of covert military and police teams.

Sources indicate that the focus of these covert operations will be on crowded locations such as shopping centers, markets, public transport parks, worship centers, and leisure spots that tend to attract sizable crowds. Security forces emphasize the heightened vulnerability of these areas to both terrorist threats and criminal gang activities.

The undercover officers will be strategically positioned at churches, supermarkets, markets, taxi and bus parks, as well as inside leisure venues. It has been revealed that some of these officers will also be utilizing public transport, disembarking at specific locations where they will brief overt teams, as stated by Police spokesperson Fred Enanga.
