Police in Nsangi are conducting an investigation into the fatal attack on a fish vendor in Busega. The victim, identified as Dezi Kasita, 28, a resident of Busembe Cell-Maya, Kyengera Town Council in Wakiso District, was hacked to death by unidentified assailants wielding machetes as he was returning home.

According to Mr. Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. The attackers ambushed Kasita as he was arriving at his rental room after work around 12:20 am. They not only killed him but also stole an unspecified amount of money and his mobile phone.

The deceased’s wife, Ms. Barbra Namukasa, raised the alarm after discovering the gruesome scene inside their house. Neighbors rushed to the scene, finding Kasita lying lifeless in a pool of blood.

Despite a swift response from the police, the assailants managed to escape before they could be apprehended. The injuries inflicted on Kasita’s head and neck were severe, leaving little chance of survival.

In recent news, security operatives in Kakiri, Wakiso District, arrested three robbers who were disguised in army uniforms. The suspects, Isa Kalulu, 36, and Mathias Nsamba, 34, from Gayaza, along with Alex Okello, 24, from Bukedea District, were apprehended during their operation in Bulabakulu Village, Mende Sub County, and were accused of terrorizing areas of Wakiso, Kakiri, Mende Sub County, and Kyebando.
