Kasese, Uganda | The Black Examiner – Police and authorities in Isango Sub-County, located within Kasese district, are urging for a comprehensive investigation into an incident where unidentified individuals allegedly made an attempt to set fire to the hostels of Isango Moslem Primary School.
Moses Tsustsu, the Chairperson of Local Council Three in the area, confirmed the occurrence of the event. He stated that the incident took place yesterday evening, shortly after pupils had departed for prayers at a nearby mosque.
In response to the situation, Lieutenant Maate Magwara, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner overseeing Bukonzo County in Kasese, has called for a sense of tranquility among the community, emphasizing that the police are actively pursuing an investigation into the matter.
Lieutenant Magwara further highlighted the vulnerable nature of the school’s pupils and shared that discussions are underway with security officials to deploy the Ugandan People’s Defense Force (UPDF) personnel to ensure the safety of the school premises.
He also encouraged local residents to collaborate closely with the security forces by promptly providing any pertinent information regarding suspected individuals involved in criminal activities within the vicinity.
