The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has encouraged President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu to declare his assets before his inauguration on Monday.
SERAP’s Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare, issued the statement on Sunday.
The organization urged the incoming administration to keep its campaign promises.
According to SERAP, the incoming leadership should prioritize the rule of law, media freedom, and anti-corruption measures.
According to SERAP, the government might use openness in asset declarations to inspire public accountability and combat systemic corruption in the country as a whole if the judiciary maintains the legitimacy of the election.
President Muhammadu Buhari will hand over power to Tinubu on Monday, May 29, 2023.
