Terego District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Residents of Omugo sub-county in Terego district were stunned as an Arsenal fan collapsed and died while celebrating an equalizer against Chelsea during a Premier League match played the previous evening. The match concluded in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, securing a crucial point for Arsenal to maintain their unbeaten streak for the season.
The deceased, identified as Fostine Androdribo, hailed from Komendako village in Owayi Parish, Omugo sub-county, Terego district. According to Omugo sub-county chairperson Philliam Jabo, who was also a neighbor of the deceased, Androdribo was watching the game at Galaxy Video Hall in Komendako Trading Centre. While celebrating substitute Leandro Trossard’s 84th-minute equalizer, Androdribo stood up, removed his shirt, and suddenly collapsed.
Despite the efforts of his companions to rush him for medical assistance, Androdribo was pronounced dead upon arrival at Omugo Health IV.
William Drabo, the brother of the deceased, mentioned that his brother did not have any known medical conditions. He had been working as a security guard in Kampala and had returned to the village just a week ago to attend the burial of a relative.
Modesto Acidri, the LCI chairperson of Komendako village, urged residents to prioritize regular medical checkups to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future. Acidri emphasized the importance of embracing healthcare assessments and seeking treatment when necessary.
The body of the deceased was handed over to the family, who declined to authorize a post-mortem examination. It is worth noting that another Arsenal supporter in Sheema District, Jackson Aineruhanga, was allegedly stabbed to death by a Manchester United fan last month after Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United.
