Entering the match with a mere 24 points, UPDF FC desperately needed a win to stave off relegation. Rashidi seized his moment in the 59th minute, netting the decisive goal that ensured the Army men’s continued presence in the league.

With this vital victory, UPDF concluded the season in the 13th spot, amassing 27 points from 29 matches. Meanwhile, Busoga United and Gaddafi FC faced relegation after finishing 14th and 15th respectively, each with 25 points.
