The US president, Joe Biden, was caught on a hot mic saying that he told the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, that they needed to have a ‘come to Jesus meeting’.

The comment, made shortly after Biden’s State of the Union address on Thursday, was the latest sign of growing frustration between the two leaders.
