The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, General Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, had the honor of receiving Her Excellency Ms. Anne Hermansen, the Ambassador-Designate of Norway to Uganda.
General Odongo extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Anne as she formally presented her credentials at the Ministry Headquarters. During their meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to fortify the diplomatic bonds and collaboration between Norway and Uganda. They engaged in discussions covering a range of bilateral matters of mutual interest, including trade, investment, development cooperation, and cultural exchange programs.
General Odongo expressed his deep appreciation to the Norwegian Government for its enduring support and partnership with Uganda across various sectors, including education, environment, and healthcare. He acknowledged Norway’s significant contributions to sustainable development initiatives in Uganda and underscored the importance of continuing this partnership to achieve shared objectives.
Ambassador Anne conveyed her country’s intent to bolster the existing bilateral relations between Norway and Uganda by exploring new avenues for cooperation. She emphasized the potential for expanding trade and investment opportunities and fostering greater cultural exchange and interpersonal connections.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing their unwavering determination to collaborate closely, further deepening the friendship and cooperation between the Governments and the peoples of Norway and Uganda.
