Uganda’s President Lauded for Strengthening India-Uganda Relations

JINJA, (Examiner) — The Director of the National Forensic Sciences University (India) – Uganda Campus, Air Commodore Kedar Thaakar, praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda for his dedication to enhancing the relationship between Uganda and India.

“We extend our gratitude to President Museveni for fostering a strong relationship with the Indian government, which has led to the establishment of the National Forensic Sciences University Uganda campus,” said Air Commodore Thaakar.

Thaakar made these comments today during the celebration of International Yoga Day at the National Forensic Sciences University (India) Uganda Campus, located at Gaddafi Barracks in the Jinja district.

He highlighted that the campus aims to promote a forensic culture and advance knowledge and expertise in forensic techniques and technologies among the Police, Defence Forces, Judiciary, prosecutors, security agencies, and related departments.

Thaakar also emphasized that the university is open to all students, not just security personnel, and welcomes individuals from around the globe.

Brigadier General Peter Geatano Omola, Commandant of the Uganda Rapid Deployment Centre, commended both the Ugandan and Indian governments for their strong bilateral relationship, which continues to support Uganda’s development.

He encouraged participation in Yoga activities, noting that Yoga offers physical exercise, mental relief, and nourishment for the soul.

The event was attended by Officers of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, military personnel, and staff of the National Forensic Sciences University (India) Uganda campus.
