Kagadi, District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | Mr. Businge Geoffrey, the Mayor of Kagadi Town Council, has applauded the African Rural University (ARU) for its comprehensive approach to rural development. He extended his praise during a courtesy visit by students from Wageningen University and ARU to his office.

Mr. Businge highlighted ARU’s practical and participatory approach to education, emphasizing that it promotes hands-on learning. He acknowledged the significant contributions ARU has made to the Kagadi district, both in generating knowledge and through practical education. Notably, sectors such as health, sanitation, business, and entrepreneurship have thrived, thanks to ARU’s initiatives.

“ARU has done a lot in Kagadi,” stated Mr. Businge. “First, from the aspect of generating knowledge and also through practical education. Health and sanitation, business, and entrepreneurship are thriving in the district.”

Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to ARU for its role as a key partner in advancing government programs and fostering development. He also extended an invitation for further collaborations, demonstrating the importance of partnerships in driving progress in the region.

During the engagement, Mr. Businge extended a warm welcome to the students from Wageningen University who are currently studying at ARU. He encouraged them to explore the local tourist attractions, including Kagadi Rocks, Kibaale National Park, and the Rift Valley in the Bunyoro Region. This not only fosters cultural exchange but also contributes to the growth of the local tourism industry.
