Kasese District | THE BLACK EXAMINER | King Charles Wesley Mumbere of the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu-OBR Cultural Institution has urged his subjects to cooperate with security forces in eradicating rebel elements and their collaborators. Speaking at Kasese Catholic Cathedral Church, the first mass he attended since returning to the kingdom in October, Mumbere stressed the community’s crucial role in ensuring total peace and security.
Acknowledging the constitutional mandate of security agencies, Mumbere emphasized the importance of community collaboration, urging residents to share information and report any suspicious activities, particularly related to threats from rebel elements like the Allied Democratic Forces-ADF.
While praising security agencies for their efforts against ADF rebels, Mumbere highlighted the necessity of close collaboration with the local community to ensure the complete defeat of such groups. He underscored that rebel-induced insecurity poses a significant threat to peace and overall development in Rwenzori.
Rwenzururu Queen, Her Royal Highness Agnes Ithungu, echoed the call for community cooperation, urging locals to report concerns promptly to LC leaders, the nearest police station, or other officials. She emphasized the importance of timely reporting for early intervention and resolution.
During the church service led by Rev. Father Mbusa Anyesio, the congregation was encouraged to foster love and unity within the district. Mumbere’s appeal for collaboration underscores the shared responsibility of the community and security forces in maintaining peace and security in the region.
