The politician wondered the motive behind Kiiza’s killing saying he had never been involved in any wrangle in the area, according to the information he gathered from the residents.
He urged people to always raise an alarm to attract neighbours in case they are attacked so that lives can be saved and the culprits apprehended for legal management.
Mr Mwesigwa also urged the local authorities at village level to be mindful of strangers and new people who come to live in their areas of jurisdiction saying some come with criminal intentions.
By press time, police were at the scene investigating the matter.
However, no suspect was arrested.
Kiiza’s murder is the sixth in two months in Bunyoro region. It follows the murder of Tadeo Bukenya of Kyawinyi cell in Bulima town council, Masindi district; Annet Kusemererwa of Kyabatalya cell in Buhimba town council, Kikuube district and that of the former acting Masindi District Health Officer, Dr Jino Abiriga among others.
