A boda-boda rider was this morning found killed and his body lying in a pool of blood, few metres away from his home at Kibegenya Village in Kibugubya Parish, Kyabigambire Sub-county in Hoima District.

Abraham Kiiza’s lifeless body was found with deep machete cuts in the head with the intestines spilt out after his stomach was slit open while his other parts of the body had bruises, according to the Kyabigambire Sub-county Local Government Chairman, Mr Alex Mwesigwa.

The chairman said that it is suspected that the deceased who was in his 30s was murdered last night after being confronted by yet to be identified assailants who engaged him in a fatal scuffle.

Mr Mwesigwa suspected that Kiiza, who had been operating a boda-boda riding business in Kyabigambire and Hoima city was murdered while retiring back home since his motorcycle was also found parked and abandoned near his home.

The politician wondered the motive behind Kiiza’s killing saying he had never been involved in any wrangle in the area, according to the information he gathered from the residents.

He urged people to always raise an alarm to attract neighbours in case they are attacked so that lives can be saved and the culprits apprehended for legal management.

Mr Mwesigwa also urged the local authorities at village level to be mindful of strangers and new people who come to live in their areas of jurisdiction saying some come with criminal intentions.

By press time, police were at the scene investigating the matter.

However, no suspect was arrested.
