The launch, which took place at Airtel’s headquarters in Kampala, saw Michael Bamwesigye from the Uganda Communications Commission and Manoj Urali, Airtel Uganda’s Managing Director, unveiling the tool. Mr. Manoj emphasized Airtel’s commitment to enhancing customer experience and supporting Uganda’s digital advancement.
Airtel’s initiative comes in response to recurrent complaints about data depletion, dubbed as “vanishing data,” particularly from high-profile figures like Azawi and Bebe Cool. Azawi voiced dissatisfaction over data disappearance despite minimal usage, while Bebe Cool threatened legal action after experiencing a rapid data drain while using the TikTok app.
