Kitara Football Club has, for the second time, formalized its partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kinyara Sugar Ltd, securing sponsorship worth Shs30m valid until June 2024.
The signing ceremony occurred at Kinyara Training Centre in Masindi district. Ravi Ramalingam, the General Manager of Kinyara Sugar Ltd, expressed the company’s delight with Kitara’s outstanding performance, propelling it to one of the top football clubs in the Uganda Premier League (UPL). This achievement prompted Kinyara Sugar Ltd to extend its sponsorship support to cover all of Kitara’s games until the conclusion of the MoU.
Ramalingam highlighted that Kinyara’s backing for The Royals dates back to the 2022-2023 FUFA Big League, and the company remained steadfast in supporting the Hoima-based football club upon its promotion to the UPL.
In the agreement signed on Friday, December 8, 2023, Kinyara Sugar Ltd’s logo will prominently feature on Kitara FC’s training and match jerseys. Additionally, the company will leverage advertising opportunities at the stadium during the Pride of Bunyoro’s home matches.
Francis Mugerwa, the Club’s Vice President in charge of Communications, representing the Chief Executive Officer, commended Kinyara Sugar Ltd for its unwavering support, from the Big League to Kitara FC’s current standing in the UPL. Mugerwa encouraged the people of Bunyoro to support Kinyara Sugar Ltd, emphasizing that a portion of the company’s proceeds contributes to supporting various entities in the Bunyoro region.
Aldon Walukamba, the Corporate Communications Manager for Kinyara Sugar Ltd, and Santosh Kumar Jha, the Acting Head of Finance at the company, were among the attendees at the signing event.
