MTN Uganda has introduced its groundbreaking digital suite for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), a unique platform that enables cashless transactions within supply chains. This first-of-its-kind FMCG suite in Uganda has garnered praise from MTN CEO Sylvia Mulinge and Uganda Breweries Limited Managing Director Andrew Kilonzo, who believe that businesses and stakeholders in various supply chains will benefit from reduced cash handling costs and real-time business monitoring.

At Uganda Breweries Limited, operations are progressing smoothly with minimal human intervention in machine processes. However, the supply chain of this facility has been burdened with cash transactions among stockists, transporters, bar owners, and sorghum farmers.

MTN Uganda, as a prominent telecom giant, recognized the cash-related challenges and devised a solution to address them. During the launch, MTN Uganda CEO Sylvia Mulinge emphasized the company’s commitment to evolving and providing unique solutions to the challenges faced by Ugandans.

Andrew Kilonzo, the Managing Director of Uganda Breweries Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the new solution, which will lead to cost reductions. Furthermore, MTN Mobile Money has become a dominant force in financial inclusion, with over 600,000 Ugandans utilizing MTN MOMO as a payment method.

Distributors, crucial players in the Uganda Breweries supply chain, eagerly anticipate the implementation of this solution. Through the strong collaboration between MTN and Uganda Breweries Limited, this innovative solution is poised to revolutionize FMCG operations in Uganda.
